Abstract Art for Christmas?
I was very pleased this holiday season to have a somewhat heightened interest in my abstract paintings, even though most people are busy looking elsewhere for gifts. Abstract art is far from being a typical Christmas gift. The interest was very welcomed, however, when someone actually wants to buy a painting as a Christmas gift, I get a bit nervous.
That’s because appreciating abstract art is a very personal thing. You just can’t convince anyone to like a work of art, especially if it’s abstract art. After all, it really is in the eye of the beholder.
The bottom-line is that buying abstract art for a Christmas gift is a hit-or-miss proposition - very tricky. Even if a friend were to comment favorably about a certain painting, that doesn’t necessarily mean they want to have it.
So, I’m a bit uneasy when selling my work to a third party, especially to someone who hasn’t even seen the artwork. My fear is that it either gets hung where they don’t have to look at it, just pitch it in the closet, or worse yet, dump it into the garbage!
On the other hand, if you have good perception, and can read what a person is about, and can successfully match their character and personality to the “perfect” abstract painting, it could work out very well, and it would be a wonderful gift indeed!
A good abstract painting can really be the proverbial “gift that keeps on giving”. In addition to providing wonderful visual and aesthetic pleasures, paintings don’t need batteries, break down, become obsolete…They will outlive their proud owners and their children!

I am an abstract lover. The human ability to express itself through painting fascinates me. I find abstract art to be very intellectually stimulating.
Keep up with the blog. It’s very educational and interesting.

Wow! What a great blog with really useful and inspiring information, million thanks. Now we live in a time when the number of people who appreciate and LOVE abstract ARt increasing rapidly. In my turn I also wold like to recommend one site with Abstract art, Spiritual and Healing artworks. And here are few words from the artist about her art:
Art by the eyes of a soul
My paintings are by themselves a representation of the inspirational state of a soul as expressed in colour. They convey a feeling of warmth and fill the space around us with light and spirit. I am humbly presenting these artworks with the hope that they will bring more ‘LIGHT’ into our world.
When I came to the realization that words can’t express all multi-coloured gamut of feelings that overwhelmed me, that only by means of colours I am able to express my innermost feelings - the most hidden and subtle. I took the oil paintings for the first time in my life and the very first picture was born.
This is how the paintings-symbols were created. These artworks are dedicated to Spirituality, Blessings, Healing Prayers, Mother, Divine Love, Eternity etc. The bright spectrum of these paintings inspired me, bringing so long-awaited peace.
Healing paintings
People whom I presented some of my artworks told me that these paintings brought calmness, peace and even assisted them spiritually to live in this world.
12 years passed since the time when the first painting was created. Now there are more than 150 artworks which make a gallery. And I’ve been encouraged by numerous people that these paintings need to be introduced to the world.
Series of 7 valleys:
Souls’ Journey to Heavenly Homeland
…I kept painting many days without realizing the time.
I was so totally engross to my creative inspirations
that I often forgot to eat or sleep …
Maria….
Not only on these miraculous pictures, but in real life a person travels through these values.
And how blessed is the one who comprehends this! The very realization of ones spiritual journey always helps one move further!!!
