Large Canvases Rock!

If you've never bought a large oil painting, you probably don't realize the powerful impact a large canvas can have to your home's living space.

With the right choice, a 3 to 5-foot canvas (These are good sizes to work with since shipments much larger than this can get rather pricey.) provide for a wonderful view that is not possible with smaller framed art. Browse through our site and you might see something that is just right. If it's not larger enough, you can commission the artist to paint a larger one to whatever size you need.

How Do I Properly Care for My Oil Painting?

Probably the single most important chore for preserving oil paintings is also the easiest.

Keeping the humidity and temperature within an acceptable range is crucial and since today many collectors either live in mild climates or have access to means of climate-control in their homes. Whatever means of decay or chemical changes that can affect the materials of an oil painting is either halted or at least greatly reduced by lower temperatures and low humidity.

Some points to remember:

Hang or store the painting in climate-controlled environment where the humidity is as close to 50% as possible and the temperature is between 50 and 80 degrees.

Don't let anything come in contact with the surface of the painting, especially hands. The oils from your hands are food for bacteria and that can damage the oil in the painting.

Commission Similar Work

If you see a painting you like that is already sold, you can still get what you want!

All of our artists accept commissions and are willing to create works in a similar theme as any painting of theirs that has been sold. If you like to commission a work, click on the "Commission Similar Work" button (shown on the main page for each work) and fill out the commission form and be sure to include any special requests. You could have your paintings on your wall in just a couple of weeks!
